Position Title:                        Plant Support

Position Status:                     W-2 Employment

Reports To:                            General Manager

Salary:                                    Hourly [$15 - $17, per hour], based on experience

Job Summary:

The Plant Support (PS) at DLLS is an entry level position that will be a dual role supporting the production team and plant operations as needed. This position is within an industrial laundry and will consist of a variety of different tasks.

 

As a PS, flexibility is crucial to best assist the plant in whatever ways deemed necessary to meet quality standards. This position will be responsible for tasks such as recycling, groundskeeping, some custodial duties, porter for production floor, assist drivers as needed and light maintenance.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Additional duties may be assigned):

General Requirements

  • Punctuality in arrival to work, returning from breaks

  • Consistent, reliable attendance

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the interior and exterior of the plant

  • Perform duties of multiple positions as needed

Facilities

  • Oversee all recycling and trash management

  • Perform light maintenance tasks (ex: change light bulbs, install door knob, paint, replace castor wheels, etc.)

  • Empty shop vacs & change filters as needed

  • Clean floors throughout plant

  • Blow down equipment

  • Clean under laundry equipment

  • Organize storage areas

  • Put away all delivery items

  • Linen management of company cleaning / waxing items

  • Deep clean trash bins as needed

  • Overhead cleaning once per year

Production

  • Loading / unloading washers or dryers

  • Cleaning & properly storing empty carts

  • Organize & maintain customer tags

  • Clear ironers of jams

  • Aid in movement of linen throughout all production departments

  • Assist in loading of linens into shipping carts for delivery

Qualifications Required:

General Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 1-year general maintenance experience

  • Must be able to work with others as a team, with little or no direct supervision

  • Ability to read & write

  • Basic math skills

  • Provision of bank account number and routing number for direct deposit

Production

  • Bilingual, English & Spanish

  • Ability to lift or carry 100 pounds

  • Ability to push or pull 500 - 700 pounds

  • Attention to detail, prioritizing importance of tasks

Facilities

  • Able to climb on top of, in or under machinery in a safe and secure manner

  • Motor coordination and manual dexterity are necessary

  • Ability to operate a “high-lift” for overhead tasks

  • Able to work on tasks that require working at heights

  • Able to operate hand tools; drill, tape measure and other tools necessary for this position

  • Dedication to working safely in your department and ensuring other team members also maintain safe working protocols

  • Capable of following directions with ease

  • Ability to learn our inhouse CMMS system
