Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (MT) at DLLS is responsible for the Preventative Maintenance and Repairs to the equipment, buildings and grounds in Slidell, Kenner and Jefferson locations. As a team member of DLLS the MT will promote good communication with the rest of the team on how to properly care for the equipment in their department and to listen for any unusual noises. The MT will ensure that all necessary equipment is operating at start up and throughout the day. The MT will also make sure that preventative maintenance and repairs to the equipment are done in a timely manner and with minimal to no impact on production.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
Maintenance

Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturers recommended schedule
-
Run wax cloth and apply necessary lubricants to flat work ironers
-
Install / replace ironer tape as often as necessary
-
Remove, replace, make belting for flat work ironers and folders as necessary
-
Periodically grease, oil and lubricate machinery, as necessary
-
Clean waste/water pit, crawl underneath machinery, remove lint bags and work in tight spaces, as required
-
Troubleshoot, track and replace machinery parts that are defective or inoperative
-
Blow down the ironers on a weekly basis to remove any excess lint
-
Clean room behind dryers removing any lint or other items
-
Clean behind washers
-
Clean boiler rooms
Plant Operations
-
Responsible for checking the operation of air compressors, boiler, water system, water heaters, washers, dryers, flat work ironers and all other equipment on premises
-
Responsible for maintaining properly working mechanical functions of the facilities at the plant (doors, faucets, toilets, etc.)
General Requirements

Ensure CMMS system is utilized for tracking maintenance at all three company locations
-
To overcome, adjust and adapt, as necessary
-
Maintain high level of cleanliness and organization of the interior and exterior of the plant as well as coin-op stores
-
Be on call for “false alarms”, as necessary
-
Perform other duties as necessary under the direction of the Plant Engineer
